About this ranch & farm fence project
A 3-board ranch rail gives a property that classic farm look, but on its own it won't hold in dogs, goats or small livestock. On this Homosassa property we installed a 3-board wood ranch rail and backed it with no-climb wire, so it keeps animals in while still looking like a traditional board fence.
No-climb wire has tight vertical spacing, so hooves and paws can't get through or climb it. It's the safer choice for horses and pets compared with standard field fence. We stretched it tight and fastened it to the rail posts so it stays flat.
We finished the job with a galvanized farm gate for equipment and a smaller yard gate for everyday use. We install farm and field fence across Hernando, Citrus and Pasco counties.
