About this custom gate project
Wide vinyl gates tend to sag over time when they're built on a plain vinyl frame. For this Hernando Beach home we built the double gates on welded steel frames, then faced them with white vinyl, so they look like the rest of the fence but hold their shape.
Each leaf gets a drop rod that sets into the slab, plus a center latch with a padlock, so the gates stay closed and secure when the owner is away. The opening sits under the carport of an elevated coastal home, and the gates close off the space under the house while matching the vinyl fence and walk gate beside them.
Steel-frame gates are one of our specialties. If you have a wide opening, a gate that already drags, or a driveway you need to close off, this is the build we recommend.
